A reading path through the journal

Begin with context

This part of the journal approaches Tantra through careful reading, named sources and respect for living traditions. The aim is to understand the context of a text or practice before drawing conclusions. Sensational claims and promises of quick results have no place in that approach.

This is a reading guide, not a course of initiation or a manual for formal practice. Questions about lineage, eligibility and ritual instruction belong with a qualified teacher within the relevant tradition.

Read what is available now

Begin with Sri Maha Kali Stotram. Its context section considers the Goddess, sacred speech, the guṇas and Brahmā’s praise in the Devi Mahatmya. The article remains in the Mantras collection; it is offered here as related reading, rather than as a complete introduction to Tantra.

The Devi collection offers further devotional reading. Devi and Tantra overlap in some of the journal’s interests, but they are distinct reading paths. Browse the Mantras collection for prayer texts, pronunciation and interpretation, with the source and practice notes alongside them.

The topics this path will explore

Dedicated Tantra essays are still being prepared. The following is an editorial roadmap, not a list of published articles.

Read with care

When following a reference, ask which text, edition or tradition is being discussed. Notice whether a passage offers translation, interpretation or a personal reflection. An artistic image can support contemplation, but cannot establish a historical claim or verify a ritual gesture.

If you have a source to suggest or notice something that needs correction, write to me with the passage and reference. You can also follow new entries via RSS as this reading path develops.
